Hi, I'm Jaycee!

I'm so happy you're here! While I've got you, I'll tell you a little more about myself so we're not just two strangers on the internet.
I'm a fiber artist from Tacoma, WA working with mostly embroidery and mixed media pieces.
When I started this adventure, I decided on the name Stay At Home Artist because I felt it encompassed the two most important parts of myself: artist and mother. I feel very blessed to be able to work from home while also being a wife and mother. My family is the most important thing to me!
This adventure started with a desire to create. Crafting has been a central part of my life since childhood and I believe it has made me the person I am today. In the spring of 2020 and at the peak of COVID-19, I began to tap into this creativity once again. I was working full time in marketing and dearly missed creating like I did as a child. Due to the pandemic, I had to stop working full time, and with all the extra time on my hands I decided to pick up a new hobby. Once I started stitching, I just never really stopped! And now here I am over two years later!
Embroidery saved me as a new mother. I really struggled to make time for myself without feeling guilty. I’ve learned the hard way that taking care of myself also means exploring my creativity. Being a mom and a creator is messy most days, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! My passion is helping others tap into their own creativity by making time for themselves with embroidery.
And if you've read this far, thank you! I appreciate every little ounce of support. Without it, I would absolutely not be where I am today. So, thank you for being here.
My mantra is this--NEVER STOP CREATING.
